Kike & Rotimi Destination Wedding in Zanzibar

The last wedding of the year and with my luck it had to be a destination wedding.

This year I’ve seriously done some mileage but with adventure comes a new story. This happened to be a solo journey so I knew it would be interesting. As always I’m up for running around.

Zanzibar is a Tanzanian Archipelago off the coast of East Africa. This is where our fun wedding couple, Kike & Rotime, chose to start their new journey.

They both lived in London but the bride and grooms roots go back to the Grenada and Nigeria. The weather was superb, the nature exotic, the surroundings of Zanzibar stunning, and the wedding was exceptionally emotional.

Kike and Rotimi had party stamped on this trip from the beginning and it didn’t fail to surprise. From the pool party to the beautiful beach wedding, it’s been full of colour and tons of love.

I was honoured to be invited to shoot my first real African wedding. They had their ceremony on the beach at Diamonds La Gemma. It was the most beautiful backdrop for their perfect wedding.

The ceremony was an intimate affair with their nearest and dearest. A beautiful African sunset was the backdrop to this special ceremony on the sands. Traditional live African masai music filled the air.

The reception was at the stunning Essque Zalu, The evening started with some emotional speeches followed by a hilarious game of Mr & Mrs! A great chance for everyone to learn a bit more about our bride and groom.

The formalities were wrapped up with a family cake cut followed by the father daughter dance and then the bride and grooms first dance. The best part of the day for me was yet to come, the reception party! Aftrobeats, Davido and tons of shots!

The newlyweds’ incredible strength and energy helped produce beautiful memories along our journey.

It was a truly unforgettable experience for me as photographer and a huge delight too to document this special occasion full of life and joy.

I will particularly cherish the new friendship that was born between us thanks to the calm, light-hearted and fun-loving spirit of Kike & Rotimi and their friends.
